Yarn Bomb Crochet Artist of Eureka Springs Arkansas – Gina Gallina

Posted by Jeremy Mason McGraw on 27 Apr 2016

Gina Gallina is the Yarn Bomb! Over the past few years Gina Gallina’s colorful and crazy crochet made art has become an iconic part of Northwest Arkansas’ creative landscape. Her 2013 collaboration with photographer Jeremy Mason McGraw titled YARNOGRAPHY, Gina created a colorful cast of characters and landscapes for a series of themed images. The show proved the colorful appeal of her whimsical world and led to a public mural in downtown Bentonville as well as the creation of a popular Yarn Bombed bicycle.

The following year she worked for months to follow up YARNOBGRAPHY with an ambitious French Revolution themed experience called YARNOLUTIONARY. Although the show was canceled due to a freak pounding of winter weather, one of the dresses from the collection went on display at 21c Museum Hotel. Gina now runs the Crochet Room in downtown Eureka Springs. Check out our interview with Gina where she shares her colorful crochet perspective. You can buy prints of Yarnography here.
